1 in 3 women and 1 in 7 men have been a victim of domestic violence in their lifetimes.

When a survivor chooses to leave their abuser, often they leave everything behind, and have no access to the household finances or credit cards. Their credit is often damaged, or they don’t have any credit, making it difficult to start a new life on their own.

Domestic Violence shelters offer many services to help survivors with their immediate needs when they have escaped. But when they leave shelter, or shelter is not for them, they often need help to start a new life. These organizations don’t offer financial help when it comes time for the survivor to establish a new home.

That is the mission of The Butterfly Collective. We strive to provide support to survivors as they seek to rebuild their lives in a safe environment, and to educate our community about the hardships faced by victims of domestic violence.

Like a butterfly, we believe that when a survivor finds their cocoon, very soon after, they will emerge anew, and will be ready to begin a life of thriving!

“We strive to provide support to survivors as they seek to rebuild their lives in a safe environment, and to educate our community about the hardships faced by victims of domestic violence.”
